Mountainside Sewing’s owner, Sarah, has been sewing since she can remember, but never envisioned herself as the owner of a sewing business. She graduated from college with a degree in painting and stepped directly into the world of teaching highschool art post college. She moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2017 to continue her career in teaching at CRMS. And through a series of serendipitous events (and a pandemic) Sarah met former owner Peggy Chain who started Mountainside Sewing 30+ years ago.

Peggy was looking to pass along her business and Sarah accepted the invitation wide eyed and ready for a completely new experience. She is honored to have been gifted this business with an incredible reputation and plans to carry on in Peggy’s footsteps.

As an artist, Sarah is thrilled to have found a business that allows her to engage creatively with her work and her customers. Sarah and the Mountainside Sewing team are problem-solvers at heart and are energized by the new challenges that come into the shop each day! This team is honored to help people look and feel their best while also enabling them to keep their repairable garments out of landfills.
